An October wedding date is risky in the unpredictable, late-fall, Adirondack weather – but in this case the risk paid off. Foliage, luckily a little behind in Keene Valley, and plenty of colors for Mother Nature to show off for this cool (47 degrees) but glorious day. Guests were warned to dress warm and bring parkas to the outdoor ceremony – and cashmere pashminas kept the bridesmaids cozy. This couple was was even more beautiful and colorful than the day – Grateful for every moment and the opportunity to share it with 100 plus of their closest friends and family. Having witnessed so very many weddings it is such a pleasure to watch this bride and groom with love and respect. #fallwedding
What a lucky and wonderful wedding weekend of warm fall breezes and still bright fall color. Colorful floral accents by Trillium Florist — love the color combo and bouquet -- and ceremony tree rental from East Branch Organics. Honestly one of the most seamless weddings ever with the super timely bride and groom, accommodating and respectful weddingq party and family, portraits ran like clockwork and were fun too! Incredible food and fun from another five-star service at the Ausable Club. Great way to round out the Fall wedding season. #fallwedding First, look at the Ausable River – perfect for a whitewater-guide groom. Then up the Whiteface, Lake Placid gondola with 200+ guests (well done Whiteface staff!) for a summit ceremony on look-out deck. Thank you weather gods for turning rain and no visibility into blue-bird skies within an hour of go time. Lastly, down to the Base Lodge to party the night away. The beautiful bride and her African dance troupe Soma Beats and Wulaba West African Drumming ensemble kicked off the night right with a celebration of love dance and got the whole crowd on the dance floor at 5:30 pm. High spirits! High vibration! Special night!! Transformation of space with the help of Placid Productions for lighting, Kelsey and Emily and staff of Whiteface for set up, and Antonia and Price Chopper Supermarkets for amazing centerpieces. #mountaintopwedding @WhitefaceLakePlacid @somabeats @wulabadrum @PriceChopper Floral by East Branch Organics, dinner at Baxter Mountain Tavern with Lake Placid DJ and Cedar Run Bakery.
It's raining, freezing, dark, five minutes later the sun's shining, clouds parting, the mountain back drop great reveal. Between 1 pm and the 5 pm wedding start this cycled three times. At 5 pm ceremony time -- a down pour! The Dark Sky app saves the day. Radar updates and reveals rain will stop in seventeen minutes. Open the bar. Set up food stations and invite guests into home for a pre cocktail hour, cocktail-hour. Reassure bride we will still be outside. Wait for staff who was shuttling guests and last van to arrive. Rain stops -- inform guests we will be heading out in seven minutes. Run outside with towels to dry all the ceremony chairs and benches, usher guests down to ceremony field. Cellist and violinist new location outdoors. Cue minister, cue wedding party, cannon in d -- here comes the bride as the sun gleams from behind the high peaks. I can't take credit for the weather but I can take credit for doing whatever it takes to make my client's dreams become a reality! #adksusa @LakePlacidDJ @darkskyapp |
