This wedding took place at the family private summer home on Tupper Lake. Another rainy morning on this day gave way to a sunny and spectacular afternoon, that become so warm, we passed out the rain umbrellas during ceremony for sun shade. Juniper Events & Design takes the time to set up a special date for all our couples following the ceremony where they can toast one another, pause and take in the day and eat some of the delicious food (Solitude Catering) they may miss while socializing. Few date spots rival this one, on waterside rocks on the red Adirondack chairs (where they later returned to watch the shooting stars). The couple did a pre-dinner formal dance, followed by a 15-minute amazing Hora (Silver Arrow Band) where everyone in attendance was on the dance floor in full celebration. A Whiteface Mountain summit ceremony followed by a lovely Whiteface Lodge reception on a picture perfect Adirondack Day. Getting 100-plus guests bussed up a mountain was no small feat, (two back up weather plans) - but thanks to the organization of ORDA it all worked out just perfectly. Post ceremony this couple donned their sneakers and hiked from the castle to the summit for a portrait session. Worth the hike! Captured the shot of the century. Followed by more mellow lean-to time at the Whiteface Lodge for a champagne steal away moment. Nothing but smiles, fun socks and a good time by all. Amazing event collaboration team: Whiteface Mountain, Whiteface Lodge, Centerplate - ORDA, Taylor Rental, Whitney Tracy at Mountainaire Gatherings Photography, Black Sheep Gardens Event Florist. #whitefacewedding @WhitefaceLakePlacid @whitefacelodge @centerplate @taylorrentalnewyork @blacksheepflorist @mountainairegatherings A perfect example of synergy. There were 1000 things to do. Cocktail hour just about to start. Passed appetizers being plated. Food station being set. We had this charming idea of a tiered pre pour station greeting. Champagne and wine. Until the wind started gusting. And glasses were blowing over into each other and breaking. Enter team synergy. The most important element of a successful event. This amazing serving crew from The Hindquarter Catering jumped in to help bartenders from Olive or Twist Traveling Bar Co. For a holding team long enough to save the day. Go team!!
#weddingteam @TheHindquarter @oliveortwisttravelingbarco This bilingual event brought together many countries and languages to the family homestead in Keene, NY. The bride’s family owns and operates The Mountain House, a long-time, historical family homestead, a popular and magical, mountain top venue. So when it came to this wedding, location was a no-brainer. The family couldn’t have been more grateful, trusting and gracious and the whole process was a seamless celebration. With lots of GREAT latin music to dance all night long (well, at least until the sound ordinance). A fairytale. This lovely couple married at the club where they met through a reluctant introduction by their mothers. Their guests enjoyed an Adirondack retreat weekend with tennis, hiking, golf and breakfast, lunch and dinner at the club. All punctuated by perfect weather and relaxed smiles.
The couple was gracious and kind from the beginning of the planning process and right through the Wedding day. Often saying, “whatever you think is best Mim, we trust you—you do this all of the time.” Embarrassingly, during their speech of the friends and family they wanted to thank for making their relationship and day possible they mentioned Mim, who at the time smiled back and nodded—but felt like crawling under the dining table. Not that I’m shy, but I feel a job well done from a planner is a humble and invisible one. A special local couple enjoyed a magical day with picture-perfect June weather at amazing local venues! The ceremony at beautiful St. Agnes Church, followed by reception at Intervale Base Lodge at Olympic Jumping Complex, with Good Guy Productions entertainment, Little Farmhouse Flowers, and Simply Gourmet Catering, unified this fairy-tale event. We look forward to sharing the photo album captured by Out of the Ordinary Photography. #LakePlacidWedding @ericewilsongoodguyproductions @SimplyGourmetLakePlacid @littlefarmhouseflowers @ootophoto
When working with a client recently, the bride asked me if she should consider a second shooter, since her wedding would have about 200 guests. I replied that the second shoot had less to do with covering a shot for all of the guests but instead for capturing moments at the wedding that are simultaneous. i.e., bride and groom getting ready in different places at the same time, the grooms face when the bride is coming down the aisle and the brides face at that same magic moment, detail shots of the set up of reception room before guests enter—at the same time family portraits are being taken.
In my experience, the second shooter is most critical until guests are seated for dinner, at that point events consolidate and it is easier to capture moments in one space as they unfold for one photographer. A colleague and great photographer posted this great explanation recently. @ErinCoveyCreative @Cov #weddingphotographer #weddingplanner Team photo courtesy of Erin Covey Creative A fun photo shoot with staff and we are all excited for a stellar spring summer and fall event season! Meet the key team members of Juniper Events & Design—all vastly experience coordinators and planners. Catherine, Kaysie and Kari (rolls off the tongue) — all have worked with Juniper Events & Design as planners in past seasons but are taking on a more involved role. Kaitlyn is a new team member and new to the Adirondacks from Rochester, NY and we are excited to welcome her to the all-star team. Connor will be returning for a third planning season after graduating college and Joseph Wilson returns for his second season. With this experienced and cohesive staff, there is little that can’t be done to make sure your every need is met on event day, or in advance. Read more about the team and meet us in photos. #weddingplanners #adirondackevents
